Hans-Leo studied Law at the University of Cologne. On completion of his legal education he was employed for several years by the Institute for Criminal Science of Cologne University. Beginning in 1987 he worked as a lawyer in two well-known law firms as a partner. Since 2003 he has been a partner in the Cologne office of avocado Rechtsanwälte.

Hans-Leo´s Areas of Expertise include the provision of legal advice, expert opinions and criminal defence in white collar crime, tax and environmental criminal law cases as well as, traffic and transportation law (especially on issues relating to the transport of dangerous goods and the safe transport of goods). His clients include major companies, their owners and employees, as well as local authorities and public officials.

Hans-Leo is a distinguished speaker at major seminars including the University of Aachen (Germany) and a major speaker within Germany on the following issues: criminal law and the law relating to dangerous goods.
