Matthias studied law at the Universities of Bonn and Stockholm. He began his career as lawyer in Hamburg in 1994 and became member of the Swedish Bar Association in 2003. Before joining avocado rechtsanwälte he was partner of a renowned law firm specialized in international commercial law.

Matthias advises medium size and large companies as well as national and internationally operating corporations in all aspects of corporate and commercial law, especially in the field of business start-ups and mergers & acquisitions. His international focus is mainly directed towards Scandinavian, especially Swedish companies doing business in Germany. Furthermore, Matthias advises German corporations concerning their business activities in Sweden.

Matthias has a profound experience in drafting international commercial agreements and in the settlement of international commercial disputes. As member of the board of the Swedish Chamber of Commerce in Germany, he represents the interests of the Swedish Industry and Commerce in Germany.
