Silke Johlen studied law at the universities of Münster, Lausanne (CH) and Cologne.

Before joining the Cologne office of avocado rechtsanwälte in February 2009 she already worked for several years as a legal adviser at a big German insurance company.

Silke advises German and international businesses on all issues of individual and collective labour law as well as litigation regarding the termination of employment agreements.

In particular, she provides legal advice in connection with restructuring of companies including negotiations with the workers´ councils and unions and all issues concerning the General Equal Treatment Act (Allgemeines Gleichbehandlungsgesetz).

Silke is a frequent speaker at seminars on labour and employment law issues.
