Jan Peter studied Law at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz. During his time there, he was working with the editorial office ‘Law and Judiciary’ and the legal department of the TV station ZDF. Moreover, he was serving as a research assistant in the executive office of the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz. After completing his Second Legal State Examination and working for law firms specialising in commercial law in Toronto (Canada) and Mainz, Jan Peter Voß has been involved in the foundation and development of the Frankfurt office of avocado rechtsanwälte since 1997, and has been a partner since 2002.

Since starting his career, Jan Peter has overseen a series of projects and proceedings in the fields of information technology, telecommunications and the media. In addition, Jan Peter Voß has gained considerable experience with copyright protection for software and in competition law, notably in preliminary injunction proceedings. He also makes appearances as a speaker at seminars.
